Tour of the Matterhorn

This tour gives you the chance to view the classic mountain - the Matterhorn, from all sides. Travelling along remote paths, you will walk over passes that were once used for trade and transhumance, through spectacular alpine scenery, typical mountain meadows, and experience different cultures as you travel from Switzerland through to Italy and back.

Commencing in Zermatt, a majestic alpine town, you will travel anti clockwise around the Matterhorn, travelling through the beautiful towns of Zinal and Arolla.

All accommodation will be provided by the alpine hut system which offers half board accommodation. The great benefit of this system is that you only need to carry a light-weight day sack. The terrain covered on this tour varies from peaks to glacier crossings, and is rewarding for the views of mountainous countryside that you pass through and the high summits that abound. This trek is moderately Strenuous.
