Travelling through the mountains in full winter conditions, this trip is for person with some mountain experience and a reasonable level of fitness.

You will be carrying all of you own equipment and food for 4 days, touring over mountain passes under a full mantle of snow and staying in un-manned mountain huts. The chances of seeing other people will be slim, but we will see clearly animal tracks left by various creatures. In the evenings you will cook your meals together, whilst sitting by an open fire.

This trek has the satisfaction of travelling through the mountain environment as the trappers of Northern Canada once did. Laurent Laffargue comments that ‘there is nothing poetic about raquettes, it is solely primitive combat which is truly appreciated afterwards. This is true. But the satisfaction is immense!
