Guided Walk: The Glyders
The route begins from Ogwen Cottage and climbs up past the Idwal slabs to the Devils kitchen. We then get onto the pass which takes us up to the rocky outcrop which is the summit of Glyder Fawr, at 999m this is the highest of the mountains in the Glyderau. We then walk along the ridge to Glyder Fach (994m) where we find the famous Cantilever Stone, a large rock which from the right angle appears to be precariously balanced, great for photo opportunities. We then make our descent back down the pass to the Ogwen Valley.
This route should take about 5-6 hours and is moderate/strenuous in grade, therefore hill-walking experience would be an advantage but not essential.
We provide day walking tours over the Glyderau range throughout the year according to demand, with the following days earmarked for the activity.
